The city of Sargodha also know as The City of Shaheens, keeping alive the trend of bravery and heroic acts, the Shaheens of PAF Air Base Musaf; Wing Commander Noman and Squadron Leader Hassan shot down two Indian Air Force fighter jets; SU-30 MKI and Mig 21 Bison, when they violated the air space of Pakistan.
The operation led by the Pakistan Air Force against Indian Air Force on feb 27th 2019 was named as Operation Swift Retort. The heroic act of the brave officers of Pakistan Armed Forces particularly Pakistan Air Force has made the entire nation proud.
Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman of Indian Air Force, flying the Mig-21 Bison was taken as Prisoner of War (POW). Latter he was handed over to India as a gesture of Peace.
The purpose of the mission was not to engage the enemy for War but to demonstrate that the Pakistan has the capability of responding to all kind of threats.
