Captain Junaid Khan was born in Quetta on May 9, 1983. He joined Pakistan Military Academy 110 Long Course in 2002 and was commisioned in the year 2004 in 30 Azad Kashmir Infantry Regiment, later in the year 2005 he took Special Forces training and then joined 6 Commandos Special Force Regiment.

He along with three other of his team-mates were on a reconnaissance mission to collect sensitive information about extremists operating in Khwazakhela area of Swat. They were captured by militants and were later brutally killed. The other three who fought and embraced Shahadat together with Junaid included Captain Najam Riaz, Naik Shahid Rasool and Lance Naik Shakeel.
Capt Junaid embraced shahadat on his birthday at the age of 26. Professor Ayaz Khan buried his only son and his life has changed forever. “ May God bless all you ‘Janbazes’. Our thoughts and prayers are with your bereaved families.
